  • Start by opening the internet bank log-in page of SBI.

  • Click on the Forgot Password option.
  • On a new tab, select the forgot username option. Then click on the Next button.

  • Fill in the relevant details in the space provided. It would include the CIF number and the registered mobile number; you will find these in your bank passbook.

  • Enter the case-sensitive captcha and click on the submit button.
  • You will receive an OTP. It is a one-time password that should not be shared with anyone. Enter the OTP and click on the submit button.

  • You will view the net banking username on the screen. You will receive an SMS as well.

You can use this to go ahead with internet banking operations.

Getting to know net banking for newly registered users

 When you have registered for net banking at your branch or online and have forgotten the temporary user ID, you can get it online without visiting the branch for the same. The steps involved include

  • Selecting the resend User Id option. It would be through SMS and for new registrants only. Then click on the Next button.
  • In the next screen, fill in the appropriate spaces in the account number, name, branch name, location, etc. Enter the captcha properly and click on the go button.
  • Enter the OTP, and you will get the temporary user ID on the next screen and the SMS.
